Future is here..

I like to emphasize that we are stepping into a golden era. It is up to us to benefit technological breakthroughs,acknowledge our needs and unlock new ways of thinking.We do need new kind of mindset

These moments that we are living now is a time that everyone asking same questions: “ Is Artificial Intelligence going to change our lives? Are we really going to travel to Mars? How do we trust social media as it is becoming more politically biased? “

Level of uncertainty, level of anxiety is skyrocketed due to several factors. The world is changing rapidly even millenials like me is finding hard to keep up with these new gadgets, tools.

But something that I observe recently is leading me to think better days and better future is ahead of us. When i look back just 35 years ago, the world changed in terms of more disruptly than today for ex Internet has entered into lives. In the beginning of 1990s Internet remain like outsider and even at that time nobody predicted use cases such as online gaming, connecting with others,socializing or online shopping and etc.

When we fast forward to 2000s, Internet opened up and started scaling, diversified into different user groups. When I was university student, most of the online community of users were socializing in different tools like ICQ, MIRC, MSN which is no longer alive ( If there are still some users left for nostalgia, apologies but mainstream shifted left these tools long ago). The key differentiator for Internet adoption in world was smartphones and when we come to 2010s, 4G technology brought vast ecosystem of developers and era of engineering, art evolved in a way daily life transformed into app ecosystem. Until today, we are using our smartphones with fancy apps to do business, social life and even sometimes to help us sleep :)

Future part of the story is that in next 3 to 5 years, smartphones are going to get out of our lives. That’s my theory and that’s where possible opportunities exist. My assumption in near future, we will see more wearable technology with more compute capacity entering into our lives. One of the reason is smartphones are not going to continue is innovation and storytelling dying. Especially Android and Apple ecosystem is stuck because social media is evolved into a power instead of innovation. Players in the industry is suffering of dullness. Smart glasses might be a thing since existing products are not bringing storytelling into table. Gen Z is getting bored easily with products and old generation is still skeptical about side effects of this smart glasses. Then which product is replacing smartphones? Link of discussion

One of the thing that strike me most is smartwatches, in the beginning of 2015 first Smartwatch that I bought was Apple smartwatch 1st gen and I didn’t like it that time. It was more of notification and commanding tool for me and I didn’t dictating tone of it :) 2019 I decided to try 2nd Gen Apple Smartwatch and maybe it didn’t fascinated me but in 2023 with my new Iphone same watch brought fitness into my life in a way that I loved to count my steps, I loved tracking of calories burned and for last 1.5 year I am wearing it almost every day and sometimes using more than my phone. Even I notice more and more people using different smart watches and I strongly believe smart watches bringing great storytelling in the next few years.

Remember, great products are not always the best innovative but great products always tell story. Smartphone ecosystem evolved around Apple iPhone and Apple iPhone evolved with great story telling which attracted not users but developers so creativity unleashed and many social media giants grew hand to hand with this great story.

One of the interesting future use-case might be holographic displays enabling with help of smart watches so we can learn new things without looking of screens. It can evolve your calling feature with help of your wrists and 3D images can bring value in your daily meetings. Since new smart watches are getting cellular connectivity, you can play maybe games with holographic console stick and so on..

Future in my state of mind will be more about healthy life and products that promote healthy nature like green re-cycled materials and build story around environmental benefits will win market share.

There will be more opportunities with these technologies. I like old school mailing, it gives me thrill to wait for a package or letter. Imagining writing letter to your loved ones with virtual pencil with your wearable holographic visual letter and share moments.

I think about future more about community perspective and whoever bring value to families, communities play pivotal role in this future. When we think more nature, we can shape our cities not just human-centric but also animal-centric. I also want you to envision of our future entertainment, leisure activities. We are still going to stadiums for cheering our teams, we are still going to concerts to listen our favorite singer and even though we know we can watch from our sofa, we are paying more money just to experience.

Humans always dream of things, we made impossible possible. Travelling between continents was dream just 100 years ago, now another excitement for me about this golden era is about mobility. Imagine you can travel in minutes for thousand miles away with help of pods. You can make it budget friendly and some parts who are facing poverty can flourish with tourism. Imagine with positive feelings and don’t let downers and negativity surround you:)

There might be different use-cases or opportunities I cannot imagine, there might be new tools that might bring values in our daily lifes. Who knows? Future is full of surprises :)
